The main mission for LUCRAM is to serve as a dynamic, forward thinking resource for risk management research at Lund University. More specifically, the tasks and objectives include:
LUCRAM is truly multi-disciplinary and spans over a broad field of
research interests within risk analysis and management. In order to
facilitate for finding and collaborating with researchers from other
fields with similar research interests, and to strengthen links to
external organisations with specific interests, LUCRAM is hosting
research clusters.

LUCRAM has a vibrant research community involved in a variety of
research projects. The major research
projects at the moment are:

Risk and Vulnerability Analyses
There are also a number of associated projects , where LUCRAM researchers are involved, which substantially contributes to competence and activities within LUCRAM although the projects formally are placed at other centres or at departments.

A unique holistic master's programme in Disaster Risk Reduction, Response and Recovery, jointly developed with University of Coperhagen. A Master of Disaster Management.
The master's programme is multi-diciplinary and administrated by Cluster for International Disaster Studies (CIDS) at Lund University and Department of International Health at University of Copenhagen.
