MSc in Risk Management and Safety Engineering
Risk Management is the programme that turns risk into opportunity, and provides unique qualifications in risk analysis and management. Risk management is a question of predicting, assessing and reducing the risks of serious accidents or catastrophes, and dealing with the consequences. The main aim of the programme is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to identify and assess risks; to suggest measures that reduce risks with the intention of preventing or minimising damage to property or the environment, or injury to people; and to develop and work with management systems in the areas of safety, the environment and health in order to achieve a low level of risk, bearing in mind economy and resource conservation, based on the organisation’s goals and the demands of society. This means that students also learn to work with other kinds of personnel, both technical and non-technical.
