Framework Program on Risk and Vulnerability Analysis

The Framework Program on Risk and Vulnerability Analysis (FRIVA) took place during 2004-2011 and was financed by the Swedish civil contingencies agency (then SEMA, now MSB).

The nature of the work was competence development, understanding the phenomenon of risk and vulnerability in modern society, creating the basis for applications of risk and vulnerability analysis at local, regional and national level, and to set up a comprehensive PhD program to increase the scientific competence in the field.

The program included eight PhD projects and was linked to several master degree theses and additional parallel PhD projects, in order to approach risk and vulnerability from a number of different scientific angles.
